2025 Projects!

I have 3 main hobby projects in 2025 – I want to update my Sisters of Battle for the Parent Players meetups to the current plastic line, I want to finish the 2024 Parent Players print challenge, and I want to complete the 2025 painting challenge of building and painting a Blanchitsu style Inquistorial warband.

Of course, I fully expect to get sidetracked with excitement for Lord of the Rings, Harlequins, aspect warriors, various 3d prints and the like. And if I don’t get excited about some Rogue Trader era project I’d be astounded! Don’t expect consistency here!

On the Sisters front, my key hit list is to get a Castigator, Paragon Warsuits and Morvehn Vahl built and painted. The new effective units should really refresh my list to more modern standards and be high points cost meaning big changes for low model counts. I’d like to prioritise some other key updates, like Palatines, Sisters Superior with optimal loadouts, sisters with icons, and generally tracking tokens.

The Inquisitorial Warband should be easy, but i’m drowning in options! I’m between classic Arbites, using Heroes Infinite (STLs from Raging Heroes) options for a warband, maybe a Rogue Trader with naval support, or maybe Cypher disguised as an Inquistor with Fallen Angels as Deathwatch keeping him company? Or even go classic and try to put together a Ravenor, Eisenhorn or Jaq Draco warband! So many options! And then I start thinking about old school 80s realm of chaos warbands…… I’m also looking at ordering the Blanche Army Painter paint sets to really get into the old school vibe!

I’ll definitely be gearing up my 3d printer, particular to fix minis and add some custom stuff like shoulder pads and the like. And I’ll try documenting it all here to help people new to 3d printing.

My maybe projects list includes Legiones Astartes and classic epic armies. I’d love to get stuck into these, but I think they’ll end up waiting for another year, unless my airbrushing, contrast use and new tools accelerate my output a lot! I also want to get back into Lord of the Rings – I have a fair bit of painted stuff here, even if not painted great, but it’d be fantastic to fill out some gaps and try some of the War of the Rohirrim minis.

I think my classic Dark Elf army and fantasy Halflings are probably going to go on hold. With neither really working for the Old World very well, I don’t think these will get a look in – I might get some High Elves done though, as they have a proper list, and I do love High Elves as well. Other major projects that linger include updating my Ultramarines from their current amazing firstborn company to actually include Bobby G and some Primaris, but I can’t see that happening this year.
